COA Elects Local Optometrist to Board - Dr. Ida Chung

Sacramento, Calif. - The California Optometric Association (COA) is happy to announce the election of Ida Chung, OD, MSHE, FCOVD, FAAO to its board of trustees.

Dr. Chung, who has been in practice more than 20 years, was elected on February 27 at COA’s House of Delegates meeting.

Dr. Chung is an associate professor and assistant dean of learning at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry in Pomona, California.

She is a fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and previously served on the board of the New York State Optometric Association.

Very active in professional activities, she is currently serving as immediate-past president of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and as a member of the American Optometric Association InfantSEE® and Children’s Vision Committee.

Dr. Chung earned her doctor of optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry, and completed her residency in pediatrics and binocular vision at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. More recently, she earned a master’s in higher education.
