COA Doctor Receives Professional Achievement Award

The California Optometric Association (COA) is proud to announce that Aaron Lech, OD, FAAO, has been honored with the 2015 Professional Achievement Award from the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO).

ICO, his alma mater, gives the award to alumni who contribute “significantly to the profession.” Dr. Lech said he was surprised to receive the honor.

“There are many of us that work without fanfare to move this profession. I count myself among the many not-so-public faces,” he said.

Dr. Lech is an active member of COA’s Health Care Delivery Systems Committee (HCDS), which means he works behind the scenes to protect every type of practice modality. Dr. Karin Meng, chair of HCDS, said Dr. Lech is an instrumental force on the committee.

“His leadership skills, extensive knowledge of the health care system and commitment to protecting and promoting the optometric profession are commendable and deserving of recognition,” Dr. Meng said.

COA member Tommy Lim, OD, a fellow alumnus of ICO, said that Dr. Lech’s recognition shows the diversity of the COA membership as well as the extensive contributions members make to the profession of optometry.

“I would like our membership to know that our California ODs play major roles in the future of our profession, not only in California, but throughout the country as well,” Dr. Lim said.

Dr. Lech is the owner of ClearVue Eye Care in Roseville, California, a multi-specialty practice with integrated managed care medical contracts. He is also on the medical staff of a senior care center and is the chief optometric officer for iCare Health Solutions. Additionally, Dr. Lech has coordinated numerous medical missions to central India and Southeast Asia.
