Optometric scope bill held up one week – please contact your legislator now!

The bill hearing for SB 622, COA’s scope of practice legislation has been postponed for one week. The bill will now be heard on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, in the Assembly Business & Professions Committee.

The vote count is very close. Many lawmakers on the committee are hearing from physicians in their district that the bill will harm patients. We have one week to convince lawmakers that optometrists are trained and competent to expand the services they can provide.

What can you do to make a difference?

Email the legislators on the Assembly Business & Professions Committee and ask them to SUPPORT SB 622!
