COA welcomes new leadership for a promising 2015

COA inaugurated its new board of trustees, consisting of re-elected members and some new faces, at the 2015 COA House of Delegates meeting.

“I speak for the entire board when I say that we are excited to improve optometry in California,” says newly elected COA President Dr. Barry Weissman. “It’s time to get to work.”

The board plans to utilize active leaders within the association and to recruit new leadership who will provide much needed help in the opportunities and challenges facing the profession in 2015. The first way many doctors can get involved is to participate in the upcoming COA Legislative Day that is taking place on April 21 in Sacramento. Your attendance will ensure that you are knowledgeable and prepared for the legislative discussions that will take place throughout the year.

“There is something every doctor can do this year – no matter how big or small that task may be,” says Dr. Weissman. “We’re optometrists and that means we have an obligation to fight for our profession.”
