Earn up to 16 continuing education (CE) credits, get paid $100 per day and take part in an opportunity to contribute to the profession of optometry. The State Board of Optometry (SBO) seeks doctors of optometry to serve as subject matter experts at workshops to develop, review and grade the California Law and Regulation Examination (CLRE). You will have the opportunity to meet ODs from around the state and, this service is a great opportunity to bolster your résumé. Many experts find the experience very rewarding and choose to return year after year. New licensees - five years or less - are encouraged to apply to ensure the entry-level perspective is maintained. To qualify to serve as a subject matter expert, a licensee must: 1. Possess a valid optometrist license that is not under suspension or probation. 2. Possess up-to-date skills. New licensees - five years or less - are encouraged to apply to ensure the entry-level perspective is maintained. 3. Agree not to participate at any time in any licensing examination coaching or preparation courses and must not be affiliated as a teacher with an optometric program. The Office of Professional Examinations Services enforces a stringent security policy and workshop participants will be required to sign confidentiality forms.
