Honoring our own – submit award nominations to AOA by March 1

Nominations are open for AOA’s Apollo and Distinguished Service Awards.  All AOA members are  invited to submit nominations for both of the awards. The nomination forms are due into the AOA by March 1, 2014, no exceptions; please submit nominations directly to AOA.

The AOA Apollo Award is the highest award presented to the general public by the American Optometric Association. It honors persons or organizations for distinguished service to the visual welfare of the public.

The AOA Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual doctor of optometry who has distinguished himself or herself within the profession for unusually significant contributions and outstanding achievements contributing to the advancement of the profession of optometry. It recognizes long-term dedication rather than any single contribution.

To submit the nominations electronically, click here to access the documents. Please include a recent photograph of the nominee; digital photographs are preferred. Completed nominations and photos may also be submitted via email toslthomas@aoa.org, or mailed to:
