COA launches Pinterest Account

COA has joined the ranks of the thousands of individuals, organizations and businesses that are using Pinterest, a social media platform that is about sharing ideas through pictures. If you already know all about Pinterest, see what we have to offer andfollow our boards.

If you are not familiar with the social media site, here are some quick facts about Pinterest:

1) What is Pinterest?

• Pinterest is the third largest social network in the United States.
• It’s a picture-oriented social network that is organized by users’ interests, i.e., latest frame styles, health tips, etc.
• These interests are divided into something called "boards," which you can create. You add pictures called "pins" to each board.
• All of the content you post or that is posted by others may be shared, "liked," commented on, or re-pinned to a board – this means your posts or "pins" can be passed on and seen by many potential patients.
• If there is a board posted by someone else (i.e., your practice), they can follow it—which means they will see your content on a regular basis.

2) What makes Pinterest different?
While Facebook is about chatting with friends, family and businesses and Twitter is where you get your short bits of world news, Pinterest is where you gather and share ideas often relating to fashion, health, beauty and more.

3) Who’s on Pinterest?

According to Digital Marketing Ramblings, a statistic gathering service:

• 70 million users—80 percent are women.
• These women tend to be well-educated and affluent.
• 20% of internet-using women in the US are on Twitter.
• The largest age group on Pinterest is 25-34 years of age.
• 50% of Pinterest users have children.
