New TBI manual available to all COA/AOA members

The new Brain Injury Electronic Resource Manual (BIERM), developed by the AOA Vision Rehabilitation Section (VRS), is available free online to COA/AOA members to help doctors of optometry address this area of need by providing a comprehensive resource for evaluating patients with brain injury. The BIERM addresses areas of evaluation and assessment, including:

• Approach to examinations with tips for better evaluations;
• Reviewing patient’s TBI history;
• Examination procedures;
• Diagnosis of visual disorders associated with TBI; and,
• Coordinating with an inter-professional care team.
