Local Optometrist Elected COA President-Elect

Sacramento, Calif. - The California Optometric Association (COA) is happy to announce the election of Steven Sage Hider, OD, as its president-elect.

Dr. Hider, a past president of the COA Tri-County Optometric Society, was inaugurated as president-elect on February 27 at COA’s House of Delegates meeting.

Dr. Hider has served on the COA Board of Trustees for five years, and has been a member of seven COA committees.

In 2009, Dr. Hider received the “Top 20 Under 40” award from the San Luis Obispo Tribune in recognition of his community and professional involvement. He is a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Atascadero and has chaired the local Toys for Tots program for the past 13 years.

Originally from Merced, California, Dr. Hider obtained his bachelor’s degree in biology from UC Irvine. After completing his doctor of optometry degree at UC Berkeley, he joined Primary Eyecare Center in 1994 emphasizing family vision care, contact lenses and disease management.
