305 - Corneal Cross-Linking and Beyond (TPA)
|
About this course |
This course will strive to illuminate the optometrists role in managing patients with corneal ectasia in regards to corneal collagen cross-linking. Corneal collagen cross-linking is rapidly becoming one of the more hotly-debated topics amongst corneal surgeons as guidelines are developed to determine whom is most likely to benefit from the procedure. The optometrist plays a critical role in not only making proper referrals but also in managing these cases pre-and post-operatively. This course will discuss the history of cross-linking in conjunction with newer methods and combination procedures that are now commonplace. At the completion of this course, the optometrist should be made to feel more comfortable in discussing current options with irregular cornea patients and more confident in their management of post surgical patients.
