California Optometric Association Names New Executive Director

Sacramento, CA. January 23, 2012.

California Optometric Association, California’s oldest organized community for optometrists, names Bill Howe new executive director of the California Optometric Association (COA). Howe brings more than 25 years of experience in association management to the 112-year-old, statewide organization.

“As primary providers of quality eye and vision care, COA optometrists provide Californians with access to healthcare they can trust,” said Howe. “We will build on this legacy though advocacy and the best possible continuing education.”

For the past 10 years, Howe served as executive director of the California Chiropractic Association. He began his career in the government relations office of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He also served as executive vice president for the California Employers Association. 

“For more than two decades, Bill has dedicated his career to helping Californians improve their lives,” said Page Yarwood, president of the California Optometric Association. “We are thrilled to have Bill on board to help ensure Californians the highest quality of optometric health care.”

Howe graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a B.S. in public administration.
