Leadership

Board of Trustees
A House of Delegates and an 10-member Board of Trustees govern the California Optometric Association. The House is comprised of local society association representatives and optometric students. It meets at an annual COA Congress to:

• Transact COA business
• Establish COA policy
• Elect officers to the Board of Trustees

COA Committees
Currently, COA has approximately 40 committees whose primary goal is to assist the Board of Trustees in providing new and valuable services to the COA membership, in conjunction with the California Optometric Association's Strategic Plan.

COA Local Societies
The California Optometric Association is comprised of 25 local societies throughout the state. In addition to state representation, COA membership is your gateway to membership at the local and the national levels. Once you apply to COA, you will also be affiliated with the American Optometric Association, and with a local society in the area that you practice.
